Teen Life Flighted in Sunday night rollover crash near Maquon

A 14 year old teen who was driving without a license was taken by Life Flight last night after a rollover crash near Maquon.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Department says the female crashed in the 1300 block of Knox Highway 20 shortly after 6:45 p.m. last night. The girl’s green sedan rolled three to four times, landing on the car’s top.

The minor was air lifted with “serious injuries” complaining of hip, neck and leg pain. A parent told authorities the girl did not sustain any broken bones, but had sustained a laceration to the head and pinky finger.

Sheriff’s deputies say the minor did not remember what caused the accident. Authorities issued her citations for not having a valid driver’s license and for failure to reduce speed.

The girl’s mother has been cited for permitting an unauthorized person to drive.
