Forefront to add location in Knox or Warren County

Forefront has announced the organization will open a regional office in Galesburg to better serve Western Illinois. Forefront is a membership association for grant-makers and nonprofit organizations in Illinois with offices currently in Chicago and Springfield. The Galesburg Community Foundation has partnered with Forefront in the venture after working with the association on several projects.  GCF President and CEO, Josh Gibb tells WGIL their partnership in Galesburg with Forefront thus far has been great. “Most recently, we’ve been partnering with them on all of our nonprofit capacity work,” Gibb said. “The things we do to provide training around fundraising, marketing, communication, donor development and board culture – just all the things you need to run an effective nonprofit organization. It’s been very beneficial to the nonprofits in our region and it’s why we’ve wanted to further that partnership.” Sarah Tapscott, Director for Statewide Partnerships for Forefront said the new office will act as a hub for social good in Western Illinois, aiming to strengthen local nonprofit and funder organizations. She said while they were looking to expand services statewide, Galesburg seemed like a natural fit. With the opening of this new office, a Regional Coordinator will be hired. As far as where the office will be located, Tapscott says they are still looking in Galesburg and Monmouth – and co-locating is a definite possibility.
