Pearl Jam Stir Up Political Controversy With Poster

If Pearl Jam fans had somehow forgotten the band’s political leanings over the past 25 years, a new poster gave them a fresh reminder.

The concert Monday in Missoula, Montana served as a voter drive for Senator Jon Tester, who’s up for re-election this year. And the poster sold at the event, which was designed by bassist Jeff Ament and drawn by artist Bobby Draws Skullz, shows the corpse of Donald Trump on the White House lawn and Tester flying through the sky on a tractor in front of smoke clouds that spell “vote.”

In a note with the poster, Ament said, “We’re at a tipping point and it’s time to take action.” Tester’s Republican opponent, Matt Rosendale, who has been accused of supporting white supremacistscalled the poster a “blatant display of extremism.”
