Macomb man dead in McDonough County crash

A Macomb man has died in a motorcycle accident that occurred in rural McDonough County.

50-year-old Michael A. Hott was killed Wednesday afternoon after his vehicle struck a deer.

According to a press release from the Illinois State Police, Hott was traveling west on 1500 North when a deer ran out in front of his bike.

Hott struck the animal and was ejected from his motorcycle.

Responding to the scene were the McDonough County Sheriff’s Office, Emmett Chalmers Fire Department, Life Guard Ambulance Service, A-1 Automotive Towing, and the McDonough County Coroner.
