U2 To Release Free Live Album

Subscribers to U2.com have something to look forward to next year — a free live album documenting the band’s 2015 and 2018 tours.

iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Live, 2015 & 2018 is a limited-edition double-CD and digital release recorded on the iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE and eXPERIENCE + iNNONCENCE tours.

The CDs come in a photographic book documenting the tours. Songs include “The Miracle (of Joey Ramone),” “Every Breaking Wave,” “Song for Someone,” “The Blackout,” “Get out of Your Own Way” and “13 (There Is a Light).” The collection is being billed as a “one-off special release” that “will not be on sale online or in store(s).”

The set will be sent to subscribers in the spring. Starting in January, downloads of selected live tracks will be made available.

U2’s only commercially available live album, Under a Blood Red Sky, was released 35 years ago, although there are live tracks on Rattle and Hum and on the 1985 EP Wide Awake in America.
