Rock At The Grammys

Greta Van Fleet lead the rock pack with nominations for the 61st annual Grammy Awards.

The Michigan quartet grabbed four nods, include Best New Artist, Best Rock Album for From the Fires (which the band themselves consider a “double EP”), Best Rock Song for “Black Smoke Rising” and Best Rock Performance for “Highway Tune.”

Other acts picking up multiple nominations include Arctic Monkeys and Beck, who got two apiece. Ghost got a nomination for Best Rock Album, and “Rats” is up for Best Rock Song with Ghost producer Tom Dalgety and “A Ghoul Writer” credited as songwriters. (“A Ghoul Writer” is Tobias Forge.)

Chris Cornell also picked up a posthumous nomination for Best Rock Performance for “When Bad Does Good.” Other acts in the running come February include Fall Out Boy, Alice in Chains, Weezer, The Fever 333, Halestorm, Trivium, Tyler Joseph of Twenty One Pilots and Bring Me the Horizon.
