Number Three Fired from Slipknot Over Lawsuit

Photo Credit: Adam Bielawski / PRPhotos.comPercussionist Chris Fehn is out of Slipknot, just days after he filed suit over touring and merch income.

The band posted a note on their website that says, “Chris knows why he is no longer a part of Slipknot. We are disappointed that he chose to point fingers and manufacture claims, rather than doing what was necessary to continue to be a part of Slipknot. We would have preferred he not take the path that he has, but evolution in all things is a necessary part of this life.”

Fehn’s suit claimed that he recently discovered that his bandmates have set up a bunch of other Slipknot-affiliated companies that are collecting money, and he’s never gotten any cut of that cash. Fehn, who’d been a member since 1998, had the lineup nickname 3 and appeared on all five of their albums to date. It’s not clear how much work he did on the band’s sixth album, which is due out in August.
