$100,000 bond for Galesburg man on meth delivery charges

Bond will stand at $100,000 after a Galesburg man made a video appearance in Knox County Circuit Court on Monday afternoon following his weekend arrest.

34-year-old Ronald K. Warden is charged with a slew of drug offenses, the most severe being a Class 1 Aggravated Meth Delivery charge. If convicted, he could be sentenced to 4-15 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Judge Patricia A. Walton appointed Warden a public defender in his case. In addition, Warden is charged with two counts of meth possession, one of which includes an intent to deliver, as well as two counts of possession of a weapon by a felon and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

According to Galesburg Police, Warden was arrested after a search warrant was executed at 340 Day Street at around 6:45 Friday morning.

The search resulted in the discovery of several grams of what would field test positive for methamphetamine. Additionally, officers found firearms, lithium batteries and pseudoephedrine – commonly used in the production of methamphetamine, five digital scales, around 150 small zip-locked plastic baggies, and over $500 in cash.

The police report indicates that Warden was interviewed and “admitted to possessing ‘personal’ amounts of methamphetamine.”

Warden had been in Knox County Court earlier this year where he plead guilty to possession of meth and received 17 months of probation and 16 of incarceration.

In order to post bail, Warden will have to come up with ten percent, $10,000, in order to get out of jail, on top of another $500 for allegedly violating the terms of his probation in his 2017 case of possessing a controlled substance, which Knox County Court records indicate he plead guilty to and received two years probation.

Warden will be back in Knox County Court on April 9th for a 2:00 p.m. preliminary hearing.
