One life flighted in McDonough Co. crash

An Adair man was Life Flighted with serious injuries after a Saturday night crash in McDonough County.

According to the Illinois State Police, 49-year-old James G Waters was traveling south on County Road 2250 East at around 10:57 when he failed to stop at the Illinois Route 95 intersection and was struck in the driver’s side of the 2003 Dodge Ram he was driving.

The other vehicle, a 2015 Chrysler 200, was driven by Jesse A. Hamm of St. David.

Waters’ injuries were considered serious enough for the life flight.

Hamm and his passengers, 46-year-old Cynthia M. Payne and 21-year-old Kelsey A. Hamm of Bardolph were taken to McDonough District Hospital.

Charges are pending according to the state police. Assisting ISP were the McDonough County Sheriff’s Office, Bushnell Police Department, Life Flight, Lifeguard, Smithfield Fire Department, Bushnell Fire Department, and Cass Putnam Fire Department.
