Foo Fighters Have Eventful Weekend In The UK – Video

Foo Fighters’ weekend performances at the Reading and Leeds festivals in England were pretty epic for a number of reasons.

At Leeds, Dave Grohl brought his daughter Violet, who he called “the best singer in the Grohl family,” to join him on “My Hero.” [We’d have posted the video, but due to a typical Grohl F-bomb barrage, use the link to watch it.]

At Reading, Grohl dedicated “Run” to the late Keith Flint of The Prodigy.

Also at Reading, Taylor Hawkins posted a photo of the Gallagher brothers of Oasis on his drum kit. That led Grohl and Hawkins to urge the crowd to sign a petition in favor of Noel and Liam reuniting the band.

Finally, as they’d done before on this U.K. jaunt, Foo Fighters brought out Grohl’s new BFF, Rick Astley. On this occasion, it followed Grohl teasing some Nirvana nostalgia by playing what sounded like the opening chords to “Smells Like Team Spirit.” Instead, the crowd got Rickrolled again, as the chords morphed into “Never Gonna Give You Up” and Astley walked on stage to sing it.
