Sandburg Class Day offering up unique classes

Adults of all ages can learn a few new tricks in a range of interests in one day at Carl Sandburg College next month.

The 33rd annual Knox County Association for Home and Community Education Class Day is set for February 27th.

On Sandburg’s Main Campus in Galesburg an intensive day of 50 unique classes on such varied topics as bee-keeping, painting, pie making, and a number of historical courses will take place

Director of Corporate and Leisure at Sandburg, Stacey Rucker there are a number of ways to sign up.

“You can pick up a booklet at Carl Sandburg College, many of the community libraries have booklets and also you can find the registration form if you go to the Sandburg website.”

While you can register the day of the event, it’s recommended to guarantee placement in preferred classes.

Rucker adds these classes aren’t just taught by Sandburg staff.

“There is a variety of community members who volunteer to teach on class day, and it is greatly appreciated that they take the time.”

Participants can attend up to 5 classes for $25 running from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All of the proceeds go toward funding scholarships for Knox County 4-H students.
