A nationally acclaimed humor writer is creating a lot of buzz in town.
David Sedaris will perform at the Orpheum Theatre in Galesburg on May 13th and tickets for that show went on sale at midnight yesterday.
In a statement, Orpheum Executive Director Kevin Maynard says the theatre has already sold 100 tickets to the general public and a large block of sponsored tickets as of 8 a.m. this morning.
Sedaris is the author of books “Barrel Fever” and “Holidays on Ice” as well as a number of personal essays and collections.
The satirical author who has more than 10 million of his books in print is also a playwright, radio contributor and a Grammy nominee.
Maynard adds that he’s excited to “bring an author of this caliber to The Orpheum.” The theatre is working with Knox College and Tri-States Public Radio as sponsors. Tickets range from $20 to $40.
