Galesburg residents will soon have a new style of cuisine to feed on.
Haldi, an Indian restaurant, is having a soft opening today at 300 S. Soangetaha Rd. at the Best Western Prairie Inn and Conference Center.
Owner, Praveen Kumar is expanding his business from a location on Pioneer Parkway in Peoria, where they’ve been open for about a year and a half.
The Peoria location website describes the food as “authentic dishes” from the “southern region of the Indian sub-continent.”
It will replace the hotel restaurant that was originally branded through the Prairie Inn.
Haldi will also be in the catering business. Their website claiming they can handle anywhere from a 20 person office lunch to a wedding with 1,000 in attendance.
According to their Facebook page they will have a “soft opening” from 5-9 p.m. this evening.
