Five new charges, bond increase ruled in meth case

A Galesburg man arrested Monday for possessing meth and meth making items during a traffic stop now faces five new charges, all of which are Class X felonies.

Knox County Circuit Court records show 30-year-old Michael Yahnke was charged yesterday with a string of new meth related charges, ranging from multiple counts of aggravated participation in meth manufacturing to meth related child endangerment.

The new charges stem from items found in Yahnke’s Ivan Street home.

The charges are in addition to more meth charges and citations for failing to properly signal that were filed Monday.

During the traffic stop, Galesburg police found a number of meth making items, many similar found yesterday in the residence.
