Backroad Music Festival featuring national and local country artists this weekend

The Back Road Music Festival in Galva brings national and local country music acts together on one stage.
It’s returning for it’s third year this Saturday at Galva Park.

Among this year’s headliners is David Lee Murphy, Chris Lane, the Swon Brothers and Easton Corbin known for #1 hit songs including, “A Little More Country Than That” and “Roll With It.”

Artists with local roots will be performing at the Country Financial Side Stage.

From Stark County now attending college in Nashville Tasji Bachman will be returning from last year as well as Aileeah Colgan of Peoria.

One of the festival founders Tyler Glazier tells Galesburg’s Morning News on WGIL that initially the festival they were designing didn’t center on country music.

“We got back from a (Jimmy) Buffet concert and decided that we wanted to do something like that and we started to think about which bands we were going to have and it definitely wasn’t going to be country at first and then we started thinking about it and thought the most sense would be to go country,” Glazier says.

General admission tickets are $50 and $70 for VIP tickets which will give you access to the Hog Trough, a designated area close to the stage.

Glazier and Nick Graffleman say the fest seems to grow every year.

They say about 5,000 showed up last year including individuals from as far as Wisconsin, Ohio and even Colorado.
