Anonymous donor gifts Monmouth College $1 million for scholarships

An anonymous donor has gifted Monmouth College with $1 million to aid student scholarships.
A press release from MC doesn’t list the donor’s identity but says they are a “graduate and longtime supporter of the college.”

The donor says she went from a very large high school to Monmouth which was a, “happy change from high school.”

She says some people don’t want to go to huge schools and she hopes her gift will make it easier for students to go to a smaller institution like Monmouth if they wish.

She also praised the faculty, saying she felt professors were invested in students and she felt “truly accepted.”

President Clarence Wyatt applauded the gift, saying it addresses two of the school’s biggest needs; endowment growth and scholarship aid.

The release also says the donor spent a career in a “helping profession.”

Her gift will now help generations of future Monmouth Scots attend the liberal arts school.
