Downtown Galesburg will be hopping this weekend when several food trucks from far and wide come into town to serve up some delicious grub.
Food Truck Fest will kick off at 11 A-M on Saturday in Parking Lot H – located across the street from the Carriage House and Orpheum Theatre.
Jessica Linder, the Executive Director of the Galesburg Area Chamber of Commerce tells WGIL that the festival was spearheaded by the Young Professionals Committee.
“And they were really wanting to put together an event for young people to come out and the community to come out as well,” Linder says. “They thought, ‘well let’s do something cool that everyone will want to come down to and pick a weekend that isn’t super busy in the fall.”
Linder says that not only will local food trucks be there, but some from as far as Champaign and Iowa City.
There will also be art demonstrations, and live entertainment provided by several bands: Sinthetic, Ada and the Shubbies, and The Dirty Loew.
