James Hetfield Debuts Film At Sundance

James Hetfield’s acting debut will have its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.
The Metallica guitarist has a small role in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile, which follows the relationship between serial killer Ted Bundy, played by Zac Efron, and his longtime girlfriend, played by Lily Collins, who at the time had no knowledge of the crimes. (Lily Collins is the daughter of Phil Collins.)
Hetfield plays Bob Hayward, a Utah highway patrol veteran who was the first law enforcement officer to arrest Bundy in 1975. The film was directed by Joe Berlinger, who also co-directed the Metallica: Some Kind of Monster documentary. Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile will premiere on January 26th and be shown at four other times during Sundance.
