Gene Simmons has responded — sort of — to Ace Frehley’s comments last month that Simmons groped Ace’s partner during one of the bassist’s “Vault Experience” events and that Simmons and Paul Stanley tried “to derail my solo career multiple times over the years.”
Frehley made the comments in response to a Guitar World article where Simmons said Ace had been fired three times and that they couldn’t depend on Frehley or Peter Criss to do a full set night after night. When asked about Frehley’s claims, Simmons told the Los Angeles Times, “I’m not gonna say anything in print other than I love Ace and Peter and I thank them forever — they’re every bit as important as Paul and myself for launching the band. I’m not going to make any guesses of why the emotions are so volatile, but it’s happened before.”
