New Symphony And Metallica Album To Be Recorded In The Fall

Metallica will reunite with the San Francisco Symphony to mark 20 years since their S&M album.

The two acts will perform together on September 6th at the opening weekend of the Chase Center in San Francisco. The arena will be the new home of the Golden State Warriors next season. The S&M2 show will have the band and symphony play some of the original arrangements done by the late Michael Kamen, as well as a selection of songs from the past 20 years arranged by Bruce Coughlin.

The original S&M double album was released in November 1999 and included the previously unreleased song “No Leaf Clover.” It was also the last album to feature bassist Jason Newsted.
