Rob Zombie’s new film, 3 From Hell, has scored an R rating from the MPAA board, which is a relief to the director.
Zombie’s last film, 2016’s 31, was initially slapped with an NC-17 rating, and he had to edit it a few times before he finally was able to secure the R rating. Most newspapers and other media don’t accept advertising for NC-17 films, hindering a movie’s chances at the box office.
3 From Hell got an R rating for “strong sadistic violence, language throughout, sexual content, graphic nudity and drug use.” It’s scheduled to hit theaters on October 31st.
