Ozzy Osbourne is hopeful that he’ll be able to return to the road in January but admits in a new interview that his recovery has been slow.

Osbourne postponed all his 2019 tour dates after falling at his home in January and aggravating injuries from a 2003 ATV accident. Osbourne told Rolling Stone, “I’m taking physical and occupational therapy classes, but the progress is very slow. They say it’s going to take at least a year. I’m hoping that I’ll be okay and ready to go by January [when the tour resumes]. I’m really keeping my fingers crossed.”

The surgery on his spine and neck has also left him with some permanent nerve damage. He explained, “When they do surgery on your neck, they cut through all the nerves, and it [messed] everything up. So I’m wobbling all over the place. And since they cut through the nerves, my right arm feels permanently cold.”

He’s also developed blood clots in his legs and is now on blood thinners. He said, “The nurse told me, I have to be careful if I bang myself, because there’s a blood clot and all that [crap]. It’s scary stuff…From 40 to 70 was okay and suddenly you get to 70 and everything caved in on me.”

Ozzy has recorded nine song ideas during his recovery and jokes that he’ll call the album Recuperation.
