Matt Cameron of Pearl Jam and Soundgarden has been in Seattle studio this week, but not to work on material for either of those bands.
Cameron has behind the drum kit for The Pretty Reckless, the band led by Taylor Momsen, recording a song for the band’s upcoming fourth album. Momsen and Cameron each posted photos from the session on Instagram. Momsen wrote, “Wait til you hear this” and called the drummer “incomparable.” And Cameron said it was a “super fun day with Taylor and [guitarist] Ben Phillips recording a killer track.”
Cameron and Momsen have some history — The Pretty Reckless opened Soundgarden’s last tour in 2017 and she took part in the Chris Cornell tribute in Los Angeles back in January. The last Pretty Reckless album was Who You Selling For in 2016.
