Great Food, Food Drives, Bingo, Trivia, and more this weekend

It’s Pancake and Belgian Waffle Day on Saturday, November 9th in Knoxville. The Men of the Knoxville United Methodist Church is hosting the all-you-can-eat event from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm. The cost is a free-will donation with proceeds to benefit several entities including the Knoxville Food Pantry, Boy Scout Troop 220, and more.
The 15th Annual Breakfast and Bake Sale is Saturday, November 9th at Faith Lutheran Church in Wataga. The breakfast is a free-will donation, and the church will also be having a White Elephant gift sale. The money raised during the event will benefit the ROWVA Food Pantry, ELCA World Hunger and FISH. The breakfast and sale is from 8:00 am until 11:00 am Saturday, November 9th.
There is a Family Fish and Chicken Dinner Saturday, November 9th at the Oneida American Legion. Serving whole catfish, fillets, or chicken filets plus sides the dinner is from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The cost is $10 and there will also be a ham give-a-away – tickets are a dollar.
Also Saturday, November 9th, there will be a Harvest Supper at the Berwick Baptist Church. Serving from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, the supper will feature chicken pot pie, mashed potatoes and sides with carry-outs available. The cost is a free-will donation.

Xtreme Baseball and Softball present Rock & Roll Bingo on Friday, November 8th at Cedar Creek Hall in Galesburg. Doors open at 6:00 pm – Bingo starts at 7:00 pm. The cost is $10 per person with 10 per table.  The event will also include food, a silent auction, and a 50/50.

The WGIL Community Food Drive returns Saturday, November 9th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. WGIL Staff will be stationed outside of both Galesburg HyVees, Walmart and Fareway in Monmouth collecting non-perishable food items for the FISH Food Pantry and the Jamieson Center Food Pantry. Look for the big brown UPS truck at each location.

The Abingdon American Legion on Saturday, November 9th is hosting the Knights Motorcycle Riding Club 2nd Annual Trivia Night. Doors open at 6:00 pm – trivia starts at 7:00 pm. It’s 10 rounds of general trivia and $100 per table of 8-10. All proceeds will benefit Honor Flight of the Quad Cities. Trivia is in conjunction with the Kiwanis Taco Night.
