Green Day Gets Uncovered At The Coverups Show – Video

Photo Credit: radim rotek / PR PhotosWhat was supposed to be a gig by Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt’s cover band The Coverups Friday night turned into a three-headed monster of a show when, first, Foxboro Hot Tubs and then Green Day itself followed the headliners onto the stage.

It’s not like the crowd at the Tiki Bar in Costa Mesa, California would have gotten its money worth if only The Coverups had played, but following their 27th song, Foxboro Hot Tubs — consisting of the three members of Green Day, touring guitarist Jason White, Jason Freese and Kevin Preston — took the stage. They played two of their singles, “Shake, Stop and Roll” and “Mother Mary,” then pared down to just the Green Day guys, who proceeded to play eight songs from the band’s catalog, including their new single, “Father of All.” “Jesus of Suburbia” and “Welcome to Paradise,” which is where those lucky enough to be there thought they’d gone to.

The entire Foxboro Hot Tubs and Green Day sets are now posted on YouTube, CHECK THEM OUT BELOW!
