Slash Not Interested In BioPic But Jo Elliott Is

Photo Credit: Landmark / PR PhotosDespite the success of such bio-pics as Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody and Elton John’s Rocketman, Slash has no desire to see his life story on the big screen.

Speaking to Classic Rock magazine, he says, “I cringe at the idea that some actor is going to play my thing. I’m interested in seeing Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody for sure and also the Motley Crue movie The Dirt. But me? Nah. I’m not a big fan of that. I’ve been approached about it a few times, but I don’t feel comfortable with that.”

Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott, however, has no such qualms. He tells Sirius-XM’s Eddie Trunk, “You’ve got to remember the one that was done for us 20 years ago [on VH1] was such a non-event. In the history of music, people weren’t doing movies on bands [at the time]. There hadn’t been a bio-pic on The [Rolling] Stones or The Beatles…

“Things have moved a long way since then. The Queen movie set a precedent that’s gonna be pretty hard to top. A billion dollars at the box office is insane. I mean, that’s bigger than [James] Bond movies. The Elton [John bio-pic] did incredibly well. The Dirt did really, really well…

“If somebody comes to us one day and says that they wanna do it, we’re not gonna stop them.”
