Galesburg Cottage Hospital receives face shields

Galesburg Cottage Hospital received a much-needed donation recently. Digitally produced face shields, one of the most coveted types of personal protective equipment in the battle against COVID-19 were received by the healthcare provider. Hospitals and healthcare services have been hit with a shortage of face shields and other PPE which have been deemed essential during the viral pandemic. The shields were donated by Galen Rowe – the uncle of a Cottage Hospital nurse Daniel Paul who works in the intensive care unit. There were 200 total donated – that he made with his 3D printer. Chief Nursing Officer Pam Davis said “…all of us at Cottage are deeply touched by his generosity and kindness knowing we can do what we are trained to do while remaining safe.”
