Monmouth Chamber releases resources and Phase 3 info for local businesses

Phase Three of Restore Illinois will go into effect on Friday (May 29th).   The Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce is helping area businesses get ready to reopen.

The Monmouth Chamber has released business owners access to a guide of what to consider and plan for when businesses reopen.

The Phase 3 modifications will allow outdoor seating for bars and restaurants, as well as indoor and outdoor sporting facilities, among other changes for outdoor recreation.

For bars and restaurants, Phase Three modifications include: outdoor seating in bars and restaurants will be allowed under public health and social distancing guidelines.

Tables must remain six feet apart and away from sidewalks, and restaurant and bar staff members will be required to wear masks and maintain social distancing standards.

Indoor food areas won’t be allowed to re-open until Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois plan, likely not until the end of June at the earliest.

According to the Illinois Department of Health, further guidelines will be issued in the coming days.

The Chamber reminds business owners that these are only recommendations -they encourage all businesses to check with their insurance and legal counsel before re-opening.
