Colorful, 7-story tall hot air balloons will launch into the sky over Galesburg several different times throughout the weekend to compete in a skills competition.  Plus, Friday and Saturday at dusk, there will be a “Night Glow”* on the soccer fields at Lake Storey Park.
On Saturday, the Galesburg Civic Art Center will have their Arts & Crafts Market from 3pm until the night glow. Many of their artists and crafters that normally are at their event in Standish Park in June will be at Lake Storey Park near the food vendors and children’s activities by the shelter.

Friday July 23rd
3:00 p.m. until the beginning of the night glow:  Craft vendors will be set up and selling items from food to homemade crafts by the shelter of the launch field.

6:00 p.m.:  Mass ascension of balloons from Lake Storey Park, just west of the baseball fields. Fun crafts for the children to make courtesy of Galesburg Civic Art Center.

Dusk:  1/2 the balloons will illuminate during the night glow.

Saturday July 24th
6:00 a.m.:  The balloons will launch from an undetermined location and fly into the launch field to try and throw a beanbag at the target(s) located there.

3:00 p.m. until the beginning of the night glow:  Arts & Crafts Market with the Galesburg Civic Art Center as well as food venders by the shelter of the launch field.

•  Raffle Drawing for a Bradley Smoker!

•  Golf Ball Drop for a 50/50! (Balloon tethered and drop go;lf balls on an X on the ground. The closest tot he X wins the 50/50)

Dusk:  Live rendition of our National Anthem. The other ½ of the balloons will then do the “night glow”.

Sunday July 25th
6:00 a.m.: The balloons will launch from an undetermined location and fly into the launch field to throw beanbags at the target(s) located there.
