Over 30 artists from the 1940’s to today are highlighted by the talented cast. Melissa Agar, DJ Betty “Crash” Corban leads the audience through the tribute, entertaining them with stories of the artists and their music. Local favorite Bobby Dillard salutes Bobby Darin, Jim Morrison, Hank Williams and Roy Orbison. Sugar High veterans, Ryan Osborn, Fred Heskett and Matt Newman take on such stars as Freddie Mercury, John Lennon, George Harrison and more. Talented vocalists Samantha Carr, Grace Robbins, Vanessa Triplett and Julie Agar round out the cast and sing the hits of Whitney Houston, TLC, Sam Cooke, Billie Holiday, Amy Winehouse and the Cranberries.

“This is the most eclectic show we have ever attempted.” said director Melanie Delbridge-Heskett. “Usually our shows focus on one genre, or one time period of music. This show crosses the entire spectrum of music, from country, to rock to pop to a little Broadway and spans a number of generations highlighting music from the 1940’s to today. The most recent song we have in the show was released in 2013. There is something for everyone, that’s for sure!” Delbridge-Heskett laughs.

“Despite the kind of dark inspiration for the show, the show is a celebration of people we wished were still making music.” continues Delbridge-Heskett. “Since 1927 when blues musician, Robert Johnson died, there has been a weird anomaly of musicians dying at age 27, so we started with the idea of the infamous 27 club of musicians and built from there. As many of our favorite artists from past shows were in this club, we branched out and chose some more modern artists as well. For those artists we just had to repeat, such as Patsy and members of the Beatles, we selected new songs we haven’t performed before.”
