Sammy Hagar is going to dip his toes into the Las Vegas residency pool.
He tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal that he wants to “create the ultimate environment where I can throw the ultimate party, like I have done in Cabo for 30 years for my birthday, but at another time of year here in Las Vegas, which is really the party capital of the world. I hate to put Cabo second to anything, but I feel in this case, it’s gotta take second place to Las Vegas.”
He will set up shop in June inside the Celestia tent at the STRAT Hotel, Casino and SkyPod, formerly known as the Stratosphere. Then, after that, he will do one-weekend-per-month, similar to what Billy Joel does at Madison Square Garden in New York.
And, like Billy, who is usually joined by a special guest each month, Hagar has invited some of his friends, including members of REO Speedwagon, Rick Springfield, Billy Idol, Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney, Neal Schon and Vince Neil.
Sammy and his band, The Circle, will tour the U.S. this summer on a bill with Whitesnake.
