City Says Water Safe to Drink Despite Water Main Break

Breaking News

The City of Galesburg says the water supply is fine after what they described as a “significant water main break” this morning. The city says the break occurred this morning near the city’s water treatment plant.

They say it caused water in several mains in town to reverse direction, resulting in rusty water.

Officials say, however, that despite the break, the city’s water is safe to drink. But they are urging residents to run the water in their taps for several minutes until the water becomes clear again.
