Man arrested for violation of possession of cannabis.

Tuesday, October 6th, Galesburg Police responded to the Hollow Tree Apartments on Carl Sandburg Drive in reference to a disturbance. After speaking with the caller, GPD remained on the scene to talk to the individuals in question. According to police reports, GPD made contact with 28-year old Mercedes Benz Jones who has a listed address of Chicago, when he pulled back into the apartment entrance. Dispatch informed officers that Jones has a revoked license, and he was detained. While taking inventory of Jones’ vehicle, officers discovered a bag in the back containing a total of 13 products that all field-tested positive of being cannabis-infused. In the State of Illinois, a person is legally allowed to possess up to 500mg of THC-infused products. The 13 products in Jones’ vehicle totaled over 2500mg of THC. Jones was arrested for Driving While License is Suspended, and a civil citation for Violation of Possession of Cannabis.
