Galesburg woman arrested for credit theft, forgery

A Galesburg woman who allegedly forged over $4,000 in bad checks and bought a bed with a credit card that wasn’t hers appeared in Knox County Circuit Court this morning.

Nineteen-year-old Dolores Cicchetti faces forgery, theft, retail theft and unlawful use of a credit card charges. 

According to court documents, Cicchetti unlawfully spent $500 on a bed from Slumberland Furniture on July 15th of this year, using a male victims credit card. It’s unclear if there was any connection between the two. 

On July 28th, Cicchetti then presented a series of bad checks totaling around $4,100 to Heritage Credit Union. She was arrested on a warrant for the alleged crimes and appeared before Judge Scott Shipplett, today. 

Shipplett set bond at $75,000 in the case and appointed a public defender. Cicchetti will re-appear in court Monday at 11 a.m.
