Galesburg Fairfield Inn offering a free stay for Holiday travelers visiting sick family

Hotel development and management company TMI Hospitality is once again making room for people visiting ill loved ones this holiday season.“Anybody traveling during the holiday season, Thanksgiving or Christmas, if they are visiting relatives or people in nursing homes or hospitals, we do offer free room nights for them so it takes that stress off of them,” says Arin Miller, front desk at the Galesburg Fairfield Inn.

Fairfield Inn and Suites in Galesburg is among the hotels making that offer.

Free hotel stays for those visiting someone in a nursing home or hospital run from Thanksgiving Day to Christmas Day.

Guests must contact the hotel directly for a reservation as rooms are subject to availability.

All of TMI’s 189 hotels located around the country including Hilton and Marriott franchises are participating in the promotion but it could be hard to identify most TMI hotels.

To help with that there’s a list of those participating at TMIHospitality.com/RoomintheInn.

Of course U.S. highways and airways get plenty of use this time of year.

The American Automobile Association says 48.7 million Americans will journey more than 50 miles from home this Thanksgiving specifically.

They say that would be the most Thanksgiving travelers since 2007.

The increase is credited to rising wages, increased consumer spending and strengthening consumer confidence in the second half of the year.
