Your weekend is full of giving and maybe some getting too.
Pen and ink drawings to goat soap and nearly every craft and goodie in between can be found at this weekend’s Warren County Holiday Craft and Home Show.
Diane Federow is with the Warren County Home and Community Education Unit, who organizes the day.
The show is still going strong, now it’s 37th year, but there’s too much going on for any single location.
The lion’s share of crafts will be based at the VFW at 830 N. G Street then some more crafts and the home-based business and bake sale is at the Farm Bureau Building at 1000 N. Main St.
Federow tells Galesburg’s Evening News on WGIL ’tis the season to feast.
“And you can definitely stock up on some baked goods for Thanksgiving or Christmas” Federow says. “You can always freeze them.”
Products of featured brands you’ll find will include Scentsy, Tupperware, Tastefully Simple, Pampered Chef, Pink Zebra, and LuLaRoe.
The show runs from 9 to 3 p.m. and admission is $1 at the VFW.
Also on Saturday, the airwaves will be full of generosity.
The Galesburg Rescue Mission and Women’s Shelter’s Harvestime Sharathon is from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on 93.7 FM and 1400 AM WGIL.
The goal of $50,000 is the same as last year.
The community came through in spades though, as $66,000 was raised to aid the Rescue Mission’s operational costs.
According to their website, $50,000 is 12 percent of the shelter’s annual budget.
