District 205 officials say the floor of Thiel Gym at Galesburg High School will have to be completely replaced, due to storm damage caused during July 10th’s straight-line winds that blew through Galesburg.
Around 40 percent of the floor has warped from water damage. High winds blew a protective covering off of the roof that is being replaced as a part of summer construction. A news release says the district is working with insurance carriers to quickly resolve the issue.
All fall sports and activities will be relocated to other district facilities.
