United Way of Knox County names new campaign coordinator

United Way of Knox County has named Carol Hagan for its 2016 campaign coordinator.

Hagan, a Galesburg resident, retired last year after 35 years in banking.

She is on the Carl Sandburg Foundation Board and has helped with scholarships, grants and fundraising. Spokesman Robby Dunn says Hagan is filling in until a permanent executive director is found.

He says she is familiar with the organization through her service on the board of directors.

He also says she is organized and dedicated and personable and that the United Way and partner agencies are fortunate to have her as part of their community campaign.

Former executive director Ann Tucker-Lockhart stepped down in August and Hagan is expected to fulfill campaign duties until a permanent executive director is hired. United Way of Knox County is a charitable non-profit organization.

It believes everyone is entitled to a quality education, a sustaining income and good health.
