Bond was set yesterday in Knox County Circuit for a Florida man accused of trafficking more than 5,000 grams of cannabis.38 year-old Tarik M. Audain of St. Lucie, Florida was arrested by Galesburg police yesterday at the Galesburg train depot.
Audain was an Amtrak passenger who bought his ticket the day of with cash.
Officers questioned Audain which led to the discovery of several vacuum-sealed packages totaling about 12 pounds of a substance that tested positively as marijuana.
He’s been charged with the Class X felony of intent to deliver and trafficking 5,000 grams of cannabis.
Judge Bruce Beal set bond at $200,000, appointed Audain a public defender and ordered him to not leave the state if bond is posted.
Audain will reappear in court tomorrow at 11 a.m. for a first appearance with his public defender.
