Iowa woman injured and cited in snow-related accident

One person was injured in a single-vehicle accident along US 67 in McDonough County.

The Illinois State Police say that 45-year-old Holly Bushie of Burlington, Iowa, was traveling north on the four-lane when she failed to reduce speed because of the snow and slushy conditions.

Police say she lost control of her vehicle and partially left the roadway on the west side. ISP says the vehicle jackknifed, causing extensive damage to it.

Additionally, the vehicle came to rest in a way causing both lanes of US 67 to be shut down due to lane blockage.

Bushie was transported to McDonough District Hospital by ambulance due to her sustaining injuries from the crash. The extent of her injuries is unknown at this time.

ISP says she has been cited with failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.

Assistance was provided by the Macomb Fire Department, Industry Fire Department, and Lifeguard Ambulance Service.
